'Allo mates! Its a Monday and I decided that since I was keeping a log of all the games I've been watching, I would go ahead and write a blog and get my feelings out about the beautiful game that I can never stop thinking of! The weekly reviews will be seperated into four sections: The Games I Watched, The UNITED Front, YANK of the WEEK, and General Thoughts/Awards. All photos courtesy of ESPN or USA Soccer's official website.
Premiership Round 6 (Saturday September 15th to Monday September 17th)
The Games I Watched:
This was a tough week for me. I had to endure two games of the teams I despise and one from a 'local' rival. Let's start with the Arsenal/Tottenham game; the North London derby.
Arsenal 3-1 Tottenham
I have to say that for maybe thirty-minutes Tottenham could have bounced back from the hell they were swimming in. But alas, my most hated enemies Arsenal, played some of the most beautiful football you'll see this year in the second half. Fabregas' goal was a clutch thing of beauty and Adebayor's final goal was an absolute masterpiece. I suppose the biggest question is when is Martin Jol gone? Today the team announced he had six games to make right. . .bye bye Martin. Tottenham, on the otherside of so called flash-in-the-pan Man City, are indeed not a flash-in-the-pan. . .they are dreadful. Will they go down? No. Will they be fifth? Depends on how awful some of the other promising upstarts do for the rest of the season.

Chelsea 0-0 Blackburn
I hate Chelsea almost as much as Arsenal but where I wanted to see Tottenham crash and burn (because we all look at wrecks), I wanted Blackburn, who isn't too shabby of a team, to knock the socks off of Chelsea. To be honest, I thought Blackburn would win 1-0 based on Chelsea's recent form with its injuries (Lampard, Drogba) and immense loss to Villa 2-0 (go Villa!). But I was wrong but no big deal. . .two points lost is ManU's gain. Chelsea played pretty poorly while Blackburn showed an industrious defense and midfield but absolutely no offense whatsoever. Chelsea should have won with a shoddy offside call but oh well; I am really sad about it (*sarcasm*)
Manchester City 1-0 Aston Villa
Poor Aston Villa couldn't play spoiler again and beat the two-game losing streak City but they certainly tried their best. What was most impressive about the gam though was that Man City proved to be quite effective at football and Sven wasn't just a minor good luck charm. After 60 minutes, Man City's industry and energy proved unbeatable and it weared down the tiring but never quitting Villa side. With the win Man City move to 2nd in the table? Is this for real?

The UNITED Front
Well, it was another breath of relief coming from Goodison Park this week. Manchester United managed to creep another win out of nowhere with a Vidic corner! Manchester United look completely dominant on defense and, oddly enough, completely destructive on offense, except the whole goal scoring thing. Almost a hundred shots this season in six games and only four goals. Sounds like Shevchenko's career for the Blues!

But I will take any win and a 1-0 win against a strong Everton team means that once the engine gets rolling (and will it?) then these lucky wins are simply bonus. Bad news though. Silvestre is out for the season. With Neville, Hargreaves, Rooney, Saha, Park, O'Shea, and Fletcher out or always teetering on the outs, this does not help!!!!! United rank fourth in the table with 11 points. Next week: Chelsea!!!!!

YANK of the WEEK
Clint Dempsey: continued his three game scoring streak by scoring in the tie against Wigan. With one goal and an assist against horrid Tottenham last week, a goal against Brazil a bit later, and a goal today, Dempsey has contributed to 4 goals in three games. Too bad his team(s) went 0-1-2 in those games.

GENERAL THOUGHTS/AWARDS
Well, my gameball nominees for the games I watched were Cesc Fabregas for Arsenal, Robbie Savage for Blackburn, and Ashley Young for Villa. My winner of the week would have to be Ashley Young. He was simply non-stop. Great form in a losing effort.
My shameball nominees were Darren Bent for Tottenham, Joe Cole for Chelsea, and my favorite clown shoe, Martin Laursen of Villa. Though Laursen is the worst player in the Premiership (and of the three Villa games I've watched this year he won the shameball on ALL of them), I have to give this weeks shameball to Darren Bent for just being a waste of money and time. His two shots against Arsenal could have been made by ANYONE. . .even ME!!!!!! He helped lose the game for Tottenham.

Until the next time mates!
