Another Draw to Remember

Friday's Champions League draw has me enraged. After Totti's understood call for revenge after last April's drubbing I was made quite uncomfortable by the fact that my boys, Manchester United, had to play Roma twice more in the Champions League this year. But after a tough win and an unexpected draw in Rome I figured the worst was over. Roma was forever put away and I'd never have to worry again. But as the draw for the quarterfinals drew near I had the feeling of all feelings the two would meet up for the fifth and sixth time. And I called it. The ratings boards could not have been happier: two hated rivals in only the infancy of their hatred (the teams' only six matches will have taken place within ONE YEAR) will meet at the same stage as they did in the last tournament. I, of course, do not expect a 7-1 turn around. The teams are too good for that to happen and the fact that United did that to Roma, of all teams, in the first place is unbelievable. But revenge is so sweet and with Roma kicking serious arse right now I fear the season of the potential Treble could end up being the year of the Community Shield!

In other Champions League news, the Liverpool/Arsenal draw has me salivating as well. Arsenal, currently second in the Prem, have been absolutely tragic lately and if Liverpool, who are on the rise, can inflict some damage on their little psyches then I'll be happy. But I hate Liverpool. . .so. . .it's sort of lose/lose. It's been awhile but as things heat up I tend to be back here more often!
